Dat New New

Fun fact #1: Kid Cudi has a bomb [dot] com song of the same title on one of his old mixtapes.

The title of the blog goes hand in hand with the restored sense of amazement that I’ve been feeling as of late towards American Samoa.

Addie being here has definitely given us the opportunity to re-experience all the amazing things that our small island has to offer.

People all throughout the village and island are super interested that someone new is here so we’re getting the opportunity to chit chat with tons of new faces (Saul and I are old news).

A couple weekends ago consisted of deep-dish pizza, sangria, the swimming hole and a hike to Nu’uuli Falls. Addie got to experience her first ride in the back of a pick-up truck and as she put it “the first time her life was in someone else’s hands.” Not because of the ride in the pick-up but because Saul and I had to heave her up and over this waterfall we free-climbed that was at the very least 20 something feet tall and near vertical. Mom and Dad: I promise this wasn’t as dangerous as it sounds! J

Fun fact #2: If you ever go to Nu’uuli Falls, hike up and over the first huge waterfall to the top area. It’s gorgeous (clean, more isolated). It’s the stuff that tropical rainforests are made of.

Fun fact #3: My parentals are no longer California residents. They took the leap and New York is now their new locale. So excited for them! My final tie to Santa Clarita Valley has been severed. Sawoooooop.

Fun fact #4: Shaun T. and Insanity are back in our lives with a vengeance. Vacation bodies here we come which brings me to my fifth and final fun fact…

Fun fact #5: Saul and I are officially taking a trip to the Yasawa Islands in Fiji for Spring Break. Ayi! Honeymoon numero tres.

We definitely climbed that waterfall.

Addie looks way too comfortable next to that eel.

Near sliding rock.

Gorgeous.
